Immigration Advocates to Hold Thursday Press Conference during Obama Visit to Southern California

Coalition members Nativo Lopez, Ron Gochez, Daniel Montes, Sarah Knopp, Rodolpho Barragan and state Senator Gloria Romero* will be among the speakers at the press conference regarding fair and humane immigration reform, stopping the ICE raids and ending bracero-type programs.

Los Angeles, CA. The Southern California Immigration Coalition is comprised of over 30 regional organizations—all calling for full legalization, halting the ICE raids and stopping any proposed guest worker program. A press conference will be held tomorrow during President Obama’s visit to the Southland.

WHY – The purpose of the press conference is to greet President Barack Obama in Los Angeles with the message of FAMILY UNITY, NO MORE ICE RAIDS, and to support LEGALIZATION FOR ALL and NO BRACERO-TYPE PROGRAMS under a FAIR and HUMANE IMMIGRATION REFORM in 2009.
