Episode 1 of the critically acclaimed series begins this Sunday at the Steve Allen Theater

Hollywood. The award-winning and thought-provoking PBS television series created by Steve Allen returns this Sunday as live theater. Well-known local actors are portraying intriguing and dynamic historical characters from different eras. Prepare to meet President Teddy Roosevelt, Galileo, Cleopatra, Attila the Hun, Charles Darwin, Emily Dickinson, Marie Antoinette and many more. Actors involved include the great Ed Asner, Gary Cole, Steven Culp, Frances Fisher, Robert Forster, Dan Lauria, Wendie Malick, Danica McKellar, Charles Shaughnessy, and Joe Spano.

WHO – Gary Cole (Entourage) is Steve Allen! He is joined on stage by Steven Culp (Desperate Housewives) as Thomas Paine, Danica McKellar (The Wonder Years) as Queen Cleopatra, Bill Smitrovich (The Practice) as President Theodore Roosevelt and Joe Spano (Hill Street Blues) as Father Thomas Aquinas.

WHAT – “Meeting of Minds” Episode 1

This is a theater-in-the-round staged reading performance. You’ll hear Teddy Roosevelt talk about the abuses of capitalism, Thomas Paine argue organized religion with Father Thomas Aquinas and Cleopatra defend class society. Steve Allen will be moderating.
