March 4, 2010 - SAVE THE DATE! Experts say the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling in the case of Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission will change the way campaigns are financed and further increase the role of money in our elections. In the past decade, the City of Los Angeles has reviewed various scenarios for the public financing of City campaigns. It is the right time to once again explore the issue. I am planning to hold a special forum on campaign finance reform on Thursday, March 4, 2010 here at City Hall to look at the situation and come up with potential policy solutions.
